The Hadith (Inspired Sayings) of Muhammed

Women

Visiting ladies can only be validated by suckling -- Sahih Buhari-- Volume 3, Book 48, Number 815:

Narrated Aisha: Once the Prophet came to me while a man was in my house. He said, "O 'Aisha! Who is this (man)?" I replied, "My foster brothers" He said, "O 'Aisha! Be sure about your foster brothers, as fostership is only valid if it takes place in the suckling period (before two years of age)."

Women are only half the witness of a man -- Volume 3, Book 48, Number 826:

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind."

Most of hell is populated by women -- Volume 4, Book 54, Number 464:

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: The Prophet said, "I looked at Paradise and found poor people forming the majority of its inhabitants; and I looked at Hell and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women."

Why most women go to hell -- Volume 7, Book 62, Number 125:

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abbas: During the lifetime of Allah's Apostle, the sun eclipsed. Allah's Apostle offered the prayer of (the) eclipse) and so did the people along with him. He performed a long Qiyam (standing posture) during which Surat-al-Baqara could have been recited; then he performed a pro-longed bowing, then raised his head and stood for a long time which was slightly less than that of the first Qiyam (and recited Qur'an). Then he performed a prolonged bowing again but the period was shorter than the period of the first bowing, then he stood up and then prostrated.

Again he stood up, but this time the period of standing was less than the first standing. Then he performed a prolonged bowing but of a lesser duration than the first, then he stood up again for a long time but for a lesser duration than the first. Then he performed a prolonged bowing but of lesser duration than the first, and then he again stood up, and then prostrated and then finished his prayer. By then the sun eclipse had cleared.

The Prophet then said, "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse because of the death or birth of someone, so when you observe the eclipse, remember Allah (offer the eclipse prayer)." They (the people) said, "O Allah's Apostle! We saw you stretching your hand to take something at this place of yours, then we saw you stepping backward." He said, "I saw Paradise (or Paradise was shown to me), and I stretched my hand to pluck a bunch (of grapes), and had I plucked it, you would have eaten of it as long as this world exists. Then I saw the (Hell) Fire, and I have never before, seen such a horrible sight as that, and I saw that the majority of its dwellers were women."

The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is the reason for that?" He replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It was said. "Do they disbelieve in Allah (are they ungrateful to Allah)?" He replied, "They are not thankful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors done to them. Even if you do good to one of them all your life, when she seems some harshness from you, she will say, "I have never seen any good from you.' "

Fazlul Maulana--  Al-Hadis, Vol. 3, p. 137, Abu Sayeed al-Khodri reported that Muhammed was talking to a group of women when he said, "... I see the majority of you will go to Hell." The women asked why, to which Muhammed responded, "You often curse and are ungrateful to your companions." He then told them they had a basic defect in their religion, to which they responded, "How?" Muhammed answered, "Is not the attestation (knowledge and witness) of a women only worth half of a man's? And that is on account of her short intelligence." Attested by agreement

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 2, p. 692, Ibn Ma`sud reported from the Messenger of Allah who said, "A woman is like a private part (sex organ). When she goes out (walking) the devil casts a glance at her (in lust). Attested by Tirmizi.

Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 212 (65), Iyas-b-Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "Don't beat the maids of Allah." Then Omar came to Muhammed and said, "Women have become daring against their husbands." So Muhammed allowed them to beat them. Attested by Abu Daud. The hadith then tells that women began to lay siege on Muhammed to mediate their beatings.

The question of beating wives, is it wrong or right, is settled by Muhammed in Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 215, Omar reported from the Holy Prophet who said, "No man shall be questioned for beating his wife." In the very next Hadith a woman complained  to Muhammed that her husband beat her while she prayed. Muhammed told her to change her time of prayer or pray shorter prayers so that her husband could get on with the joy of beating her. (Reported by Abu Sayeed al-Kodri, Attest by Abu Daud)

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 614, that there is a curse on women who wear shoes. He said shoes are only for men.

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 1, p. 738 Abul Malih reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "Circumcision is Sunnat (required by Islamic law) for males and optional for females." Attested by Ahmad and Baihaqi.

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 2, p. 657, Oqbah-b-A`mer reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "The most equitable of the conditions of marriage is that you should fulfil that (dowry) with which you have made private parts lawful. Agreed. In other words, the dowry is payment to use the wife's private parts. In No. 57 of p. 659, Muhammed said that a handful of barley or dates is enough.

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol 2, p. 651, Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "No woman shall give a woman in marriage, nor shall a woman give herself in marriage. Verily, the fornicatress is she that marries by herself." Attested by Tirmizi and Abu Daud.

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol. 2, p. 116, Jaber reported from the Prophet who said, "The best of what a man takes to his wife when he returns from a journey is what he gives her the first night." Attested by Abu Daud.

Fazlul Maulana--  Al Hadis, Vol 1, p. 217 (76), Ja`ber-b-Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "...Verily, you have married (wives) with trust in Allah. You have got the right over them that they entertain nobody to your bed which you dislike. If they do this, give them a beating..." Attested by agreement. How nice-- is this Beverly Hills, California or Mecca? If the wife knows her husband's guest is his friend, she has to entertain him in bed, and remember, this is the way to Paradise for the Muslim woman.
